“For us, it is amazing achievement. We have been planning this for a long time and now we can be proud that IBB Polonia London has produced its own series! We have put a lot of work into this and we hope that the effect will be well received. It’s a piece of work that no volleyball fan should take with a pinch of salt. It reveals the secrets and proceedings that teams go through on a daily basis; how much work outside of the court that take place, how much effort and how many emotions are involved in order to be able to perform to a high level on court. Watching the serial is like being a part of the squad. IBB Polonia London, by producing its own TV show, demonstrates it isn’t just aiming high, but is reaching high. We are proud that, once again, we can show that there are no limits for us, and popularising volleyball and developing our team is of prime importance. It is all thanks to the visionary and strategic approach by the owner of The Club and IBB Builders Merchants: Jacek Ambroży and other individuals within The Club. I am delighted that we have new partners in BT Sport, one of the biggest sports broadcasters in the UK. At IBB Polonia London we know how much emotion, joy and benefit this sport brings and we want to show this to a wider audience. I hope that more people will get into volleyball and start to love it after watching the shows ” said Bartek Łuszcz, CEO of IBB Polonia London.
Apart from growing its dreams of sport, IBB Polonia London is still competing domestically. On Saturday 29th January, the game against local rivals Richmond Docklands took place for the English National Cup Quarter Final. It was an epic five sets, but in the long run the visitors were the stronger. The team played an incredible standard and fought to the very end, a lack of experience was the difference at the ending of the final set. It is worth remembering that the 2021/2022 season has the IBB Polonia London roster filled with junior players plus four seniors. The aim is their development. The average age on court was 21, the youngest player was 16 and only four players were above 19 years old. In addition six of the youngsters have been called up to the England National Junior Team. Training and schooling the young players is one of the aims of IBB Polonia London with the target of playing at an even higher level after school finishes. Despite the results, The Club is incredibly proud of its players, the older group as well as the school age players, who all played 100% until the very end and took on a much older and more experienced group of advertise as equals.
“Sadly after more than two hours of emotions on and off court, we had to concede to the opponents. We had a real chance; we had match point. On the flip side, its yet more experience for our youngsters and we can’t wait for the next game. We are also anticipating the effects of the projects away from the playing arena, and we hope that positive emotions will be felt amongst our supporters” said captain of IBB Polonia London, Bartosz Kisielewicz.
