IBB Polonia London go from strength to strength

There are no equals for IBB Polonia London this season. On Saturday, 9th March the west London played the visitors from Essex Blaze. From the very start, the visitors had no chance. In a lightning fast three set match that would have lasted less than an hour without the technical timeouts, the rivals were turned over 3-0 (25:11; 25:12; 25:15). With this result, the winning run continues from the very first match of the season and the lead at the top of the Super League table continues.

„The squad played a very dominant match from start to finish. I was so impressed with each of the players at different phases of the match. Rupert Scott played as setter and linked up with each of the players superbly. The outside hitters of Dorian Point and Seain Cook were unstoppable. Cook served up a series of bombs from the first whistle and IBB Polonia were ahead 8-1 at the first technical time-out. The team were as clinical as a surgeon performing an operation but also had the unstoppable power of a steam train. I really have not seen the team playing so well and the bad news for the other teams is that they seem to be improving with each match. With the best player this century, Giba set to join shortly the potential of IBB Polonia London is immense. I can’t wait!” – commented Chris Hykiel, IBB Polonia London Director of Volleyball.

The next two fixtures will be played away: 16th March against Sheffield Hallam and 17th March Durham Palatinates await. They return to their home venue on 30th March, but the highlight of the entire season, will be on 14th April at Crystal Palace, when the legend, that is Giba, will appear on court wearing IBB Polonia kit. Tickets for this historic event are available online, but they are already selling like hot cakes. The match will be a superb reward for the players, for whom playing with such an idol will be a dream come true, but in addition there will be numerous amazing attractions running alongside the game.

The Brazilian aims to increase the popularity of volleyball in London. Taking part in the final match of the season is just one of the events that Giba will be doing during his time in London. The legendary outside hitter has become a shareholder as well as an Ambassador of the crowdfunding initiative that appears on The Club’s website.
