London volleyball academy programme in recruitment drive.

In Poland, volleyball is a sport that Poles have much to shout about – world class national league, a top ranking national team and regularly hosting numerous international events. All of this has meant that the system in place by Polish coaches for young players to develop their skills in Poland is one of the best in the world. Similarly, Poles in the UK have for many years been heavily involved in the sports increasing stature and development. The oldest club in the league is CBL Polonia London and it’s only one of many examples where Polish volleyball players have formed the core base of teams around the country.

Grzegorz Niski is one of these players, having represented CBL Polonia London for a number of years as a setter. Having studied and trained as a P.E teacher he intertwined his daily work with his hobby, playing an important role in a CBL Polonia squad that went on to win national cups and titles over a number of years. His focus has now turned to passing on his own experiences to young and aspiring volleyball players by setting up a Volleyball School in London with his own ambition for it to become the best in England.

“I’ve been thinking about running volleyball sessions in England for a long time now, as it is something I did when I was back in Poland. In England I have been playing at the highest level possible with CBL Polonia London winning a number of trophies . I believe I have a good enough understanding of the game as well as technical ability that will allow me to succeed in this new venture, after all I am a qualified teacher and volleyball coach! Volleyball in England is at an exciting new path of development and I believe is in need of a number of great coaches to help junior players fulfill their potential. I believe that my experience both playing here in England and coaching in Poland will allow me to succeed” – said coach Grzegorz Niski

The club is actively looking for children interested in taking up volleyball. Currently training sessions will take place in west London, Ealing, at St.Benedict’s School Sports Hall and hope to encourage children aged 9-15 as well as their parents to an open sessions every Saturday in June at 3.15pm.

“Last week we had our first open training session and we think it was a great success. Soon enough I think we may have to consider opening up further training sessions both at St.Benedict’s School and possible further afield to cater for the demand. Volleyball is a sport that anyone and everyone can take part it, and considering it is still very much in the early stages of development in the England, the chances are even greater for a junior player to succeed to a high level” – said coach Niski

CBL Polonia London is partnered with the current Champions of Poland – PGE Skra Belchatow – and part of this relationship is built on a framework to develop young volleyball talent both in Poland in and England.

“Of course, the coaching available by us will be to the highest standard possible, and the most talented individuals will also have be put forward to further their development under the watchful eye of Skra’s coaching team. Training sessions are open to all children, so we hope that within a few years we will be able to say that we have a number of players that started their volleyball career with us and are now key players within the professional senior leagues in Europe.” – said Bartek Łuszcz, CBL Polonia vice-president.

Szkółka siatkarska w Londynie prowadzi nabór dzieci.

Siatkówka to sport, w którym Polacy mają wiele do powiedzenia – świetna liga, mocne reprezentacje i organizacja dużych imprez. To wszystko sprawia, że system szkolenia młodzieży prowadzony przez polskich trenerów uznawany jest za najlepszy na świecie. Także a Anglii Polacy od wielu lat przyczyniają się do rozwoju wyspiarskiej siatki. Najstarszym klubem w lidze jest założona przez polskich harcerzy Polonia Londyn, a polscy zawodnicy od lat są filarami wielu brytyjskich drużyn.

To właśnie w Polonii Londyn przez kilkanaście ostatnich lat grał rozgrywający – Grzegorz Niski. Z wykształcenia magister wychowania fizycznego i instruktor siatkówki. Siatkę od lat łączył z pracą zawodową – grając w lidze zdobywał z Polonią angielskie mistrzostwa i puchary. Teraz, po latach grania, postanowił swoją wiedzę i umiejętności przekazać młodszym zawodnikom – założył w Londynie szkółkę siatkarską. Chce, żeby była najlepsza w Anglii.

„”Od jakiegoś czasu myślałem o prowadzeniu zajęć siatkarskich w Anglii – zajmowałem się tym w Polsce, w Anglii z kolei grałem w najwyższej lidze siatkarskiej i z Polonią Londyn zdobywałem najważniejsze trofea. Przygotowanie teoretyczne mam – jestem nauczycielem i instruktorem siatkówki. Ten sport w Anglii zaczyna się rozwijać i jest zapotrzebowanie na wysokiej jakości szkolenie młodzieży. Z moją wiedzą popartą polską myślą trenerską – szanse na sukces są duże” – powiedział dyrektor sportowy szkółki – Grzegorz Niski.

Aktualnie prowadzony jest nabór dzieci i młodzieży zainteresowanych rozpoczęciem przygody z siatką. Zajęcia prowadzone są w zachodnim Londynie – w dzielnicy Ealing – w hali sportowej St Benedict’s School. Dzieci i młodzież w wieku od dziewięciu do piętnastu lat w raz z rodzicami mogą się zgłaszać na otwarte treningi odbywające się w czerwcu w soboty o godzinie 15.15.

“Pierwsze zajęcia odbyły się w zeszłym tygodniu i zainteresowanie było spore – myślę że już niedługo będziemy organizować dodatkowe treningi – także w innych halach i dniach tygodnia. Siatkówka to sport, który uprawiać może każdy, dodatkowo jak żaden inny uczy on pracy w grupie. Jest to też dyscyplina stosunkowo mało popularna w Anglii, więc szanse wybicia się przez młodzież są duże” – mówi trener Niski.

CBL Polonia Londyn to klub związany umową partnerską z aktualnym Mistrzem Polski – PGE Skrą Bełchatów – współpraca dotyczy między innymi szkolenia młodzieży i poszukiwania talentów.

“To pewne, że szkolenie będzie na bardzo wysokim poziomie, a najlepsi zawodnicy, będą przedstawieni bełchatowskim trenerom. W Anglii poważne szkolenie młodzieży zaczyna się właśnie na dobre – możliwość wykorzystywania wiedzy i umiejętności z Polski daje tu wielkie pole do popisu – chcemy być najlepsi w Anglii. Zajęcia są otwarte dla wszystkich dzieci – nie tylko polskojęzycznych – liczę, że za kilka lat zawodnicy rozpoczynający karierę u nas będą filarami swoich drużyn grających nie tylko w Anglii ale i w całej Europie” – powiedział wiceprezes CBL Polonii, Bartek Łuszcz.
