CBL Polonia London present at “Sports marketing in volleyball” conference organised by PGE Skra Belchatow

Representatives from CBL Polonia London were present at the “Sports marketing in volleyball” conference organised by PGE Skra Belchatow – one of the strongest volleyball teams in Europe. PGE Skra is one of the “jewels”  of the Lodzkie region Poland and is recognised by local authorities as a source of great promotion that reaches far outside Poland’s borders.

PGE Skra Belchatow is recognised as one of the leaders in terms of fan’s engagement and sports marketing in Poland’s top volleyball league – PlusLiga. During the presentations by Piotr Matecki (Director of SportWin), Artur Popko (Chairman of The Polish Professional Volleyball League) and Tomasz Koprowski (Marketing Manager of PGE Skra Belchatow) current and upcoming trends in marketing, supporters and funding acquisitions were discussed. Guest speakers also included The Secretary of The European Cups Commission for the CEV – Natalia Kostulska – discussing advertising throughout and in the lead up to high level sports events.

“CBL Polonia London and PGE Skra Belchatow partnered last year and Polonia’s presence at this conference is a natural next step in our growing relationship. Our aims are aligned and include promotion of our sport globally, together with the development of CBL Polonia London” – said Tomasz Koprowski – Marketing Manager of PGE Skra Belchatow.

There are further similar events scheduled, five in total, and CBL Polonia London representatives will be present at each of them. At present, discussions are being held to establish the best way of communicating this invaluable knowledge to other clubs in England.

After the conference a PlusLiga match was played between PGE Skra Belchatow and Jastrzebski Wegiel with PGE Skra coming out on top, winning 3:1. Interestingly, supporters of both clubs, PGE Skra and Jastrzebski Wegiel, are partnered with the supporter’s club of CBL Polonia London, with home and away supporters honouring this partnership with gestures, shirts and banners of CBL Polonia London throughout the live televised match.
