The finishing stages of CLVolleyM preparations

The reigning Champions of England, thanks to the generosity of their partner club PGE Skra Bełchatów, has been working hard every day since August in Bełchatów in their preparation for this year’s edition of the CEV Champions League competition. Apart from daily trainings, that take place in the Energy Hall, a series of friendly games have taken place. There have been four training games so far with various Polish teams; in the next few days, three more games are planned.

The Champions of England are close to the end of preparations of this year’s Champions League. The stay in Bełchatów has been very worthwhile where IBB Polonia London used the generosity of PGE Skra as agreed between the two organisations. The team from London increased the number of training sessions and friendly games to maximise the opportunities presented in Poland. Teams from Czestochowa, Wieluń, Chełm and Miedzyrzec were the chosen opponents; the next phase of games is a significant increase in the level of competition. Today and tomorrow Berlin Recycling Volleys are the opponents: a very highly decorated team from Germany, containing a roster scattered with international players. The game will be transmitted via Facebook on IBB Polonia London’s pages and starts at 8pm Poland time (7pm UK time).

The Champions of England have a solid program of events. Koutouleas’ players will have little time to rest. On Friday, they travel to Toruń to play against Wilfred Leon’s team during the weekend. Sunday’s match will be open to the public, and details will be shared soon. Following their return to Belchatow, the English team has one more match. The final friendly is an official game against their friends PGE Skra Belchatow. This will form the closing point of the pre- season preparations and will be the final test before the 2021/22 season gets underway.

All additional information will appear on The Club’s social media pages.
